Motion Graphics Demo Reel
From explainers to logo builds, my motion graphics demo reel includes all my work from my time in the Digital Media Design program at Red River College, as well as personal mini projects & freelance during the pandemic.
Prime Time - Dreso
Promotional video & cover art I made for local music artist Dreso for his song Prime Time. This was used to promote the song on social media platforms before the release of the song.
I digitally illustrated the cover art and assets in Photoshop, the piece was animated in After Effects & the final version including the audio was made in Premiere Pro. This is a process I’ve become very familiar with over the last few years jumping in and out of software throughout a project. This was also around the time that I had really started getting into digital illustration, my other pieces are viewable in my gallery above.
Astral
Stylized like a 2D mobile game, I imagined it as a save point. It showcases techniques like expressions, visual effects like lightning, 3D zooms, glowing elements, a crafted sound bed as well as other smaller details like the plants blowing in wind. I wanted to create an entire theme and feeling that felt cinematic and could be used conceptually to imagine how a game might look.
The Maker Series
A graphic intro for a series introducing new creatives and their art. The series would feature the person themselves outside of the art, talk about their process creatively and then in the third segment talk about their art itself. This was my first time really experimenting with custom type in a design like this and my focus was to highlight and create a memorable intro piece.
Plant Life
An intensive design piece using an extreme amount of trim paths, I wanted to push the limit of what I could do with the technique and do so in a way that looked and felt organic as the animation was happening.
Did You Know?
Mini explainer about “COVID-19” (Originally named Coronavirus.)
I made this at a time where it had yet to become a global pandemic. This motion graphic features a 3D zoom, a Cinema 4D element made to look 2D in the beer bottle, and an overall professional motion graphics look.
Oxygen - Studio Project
My studio project made in my second year of college. For this project I wanted to blend all the skills I had learned up to this point as well as reflect some of my own interests through my work. Using many of the Adobe Creative Suite Programs on this (After Effects, Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator) I blended motion graphics elements with my photography, illustration and design skills as well as doing full audio effects to match. The overall piece is meant to mimic a 2D menu based game in which you are the caretaker for biologically modified plants, that have been engineer to repair the Earth’s atmosphere.
Pun Text Animation
A text animation featuring a French geography pun. Throughout the video I tried to keep as much of a variety as possible with each animation as to not have repeating elements.
iSO 5 Second Loop
A small 5 second looping animation to practice a continuous movement that carries its momentum throughout the entire motion. Doing these small practices has always been a lot of fun for me and keeps me on my toes creatively.
Synester - Silnt
A simple visual that I fully illustrated in Photoshop and animated in After Effects.
The guitar was drawn by myself and I painted in the clouds using custom brushes.
Arcadia Before & After
A before & after progress video for Arcadia, the video showcases the complete transformation of a backyard that was done over the course of a week. The photography used is my own and the video features simple on brand animation and a carousel style animation for the photos, as well as a simple progress bar.
